Nice, hadn't noticed those when I tried out the compressor. So same annoying power issue. That stinks! One or the other should be live regardless. The 12v would be fine, but I guess Toyota thinks we're all stupid and can't make age our power consumption! It needs to be live while driving or...
Well, I hear what he said, and hadn't thought about bring able to plug in the battery backup at the rear of the center console!! I'll test this all for sure. All I can say is that the manual contradicts what he says.
My understanding is that when driving, the inverter is not on, so no charge to the fridge. I have a work light I can plug in and bring up to the cab and test all this. I get your numbers, as today's fridges have very low draw.
This is what I was afraid of! Poor, poor, poor design by Toyota!? I'd 'planned' on powering a fridge during the day and use a portable battery pack at night.
I have a TH. Only a 120v outlet in the bed. A dual 12v/120v outlet would have been better. As stated earlier, parking on, AC 120V switch on dash on and truck on for the outlet to work. I was hoping the outlet in the bed would work while driving to power a fridge. Perhaps it will. Anyone...
Based on what I learned, the bed scene lights part is the entire bed rail with the integrated bed scene lights. I'd only be guessing that the wiring harness is probably already there!
Hopefully a final mounting option. Iterations one and two are posted above. This solution uses a medium Ram clamp mount on the PS center console grab bar and a short arm. I still need a good solution for a mic clip. An adhesive sticky mount on the back of the clamp is one solution. I think...
Alerts had been triggered as they were testing circuits trying to find the issue with the cargo/bed lights. Why the truck took two days then give me the warning on the dash and then have that disappear they couldn't explain. They cleared the alerts in the multimedia system and they haven't...
Ordered a Ram clamp and shorter arm to us on the passenger side grab bar tool the right of the shift lever to get it moved off the windshield. Will post up results.
One rubber grommet between engine bay and cab on the hybrids. I did poke a hole in that to route the antenna wire. Hybrids have both the the car battery and hybrid battery under the rear seats, so running power from there under the plastic door kick panels is easy.
Thanks, very aware of the Commifornia law on this. I'd had it mounted to a little side window in the Prius. My first mount in the Trailhunter was something I put together on the PS molle panel, but was unable to move the seat forward enough for the wife. Still searching for the right...
My Yaesu FT-8800 mounted in my Tacoma Trailhunter. I scavenged my mounts from my old Prius. The same Yaesu in my old Landcruiser was built into the dash and just left it for the new owner. It uses a Ram suction cup mount for the head unit. The body of the radio barely fit under the driver...
The 3 clips inside the cover 'should' clip onto the three bolts. The bolts have a round ball on the end that should stay in the plastic clips. They don't well at all. Toyota should be ashamed to put such cheal junk on a $65k truck. My Safari Snorkel I installed on my Landcruiser a decade or...
