I have the factory aux prewire, but in my previous truck I ran it through the gromet and harness on the driver side door since it fed to the engine bay instead of via a firewall penetration; as far as running it up, I ran my wires from the engine bay up the passenger side A-pillar on the outside...
I have the CaliRaised bracket with Morimoto 2Banger's and they don't really impede the view. Obviously, the bigger the pod you have, the more it'll block your view.. but that's dependent on the pod, not so much the bracket.
I don't have previous experience with BFG's, my last truck tires had Continental TerrainContacts. So far from what I've read about KO2's issue in rain, I don't think KO3's have that issue. We do have a lot of torque and it doesn't take much to lose grip but traction control comes on real fast...
I took my truck off roading last weekend.. lots of Jeeps, 3rd Gen Taco's and a few 4 runners showed up. I was getting waves and stopped w/ people wanting to check out my 4th gen. They all loved what they could see. From a reliability standpoint, all new vehicles go through their own...

My wife and I went up to Marble Falls to enjoy some trails as there aren't many around Central Texas and we had a blast. I'm not interested in rock climbing, I'm okay doing just the trails and the Taco tackled it without breaking a sweat.
Tires are taller than stock, it'll probably give you a true .5" lift (true because you're also lifting the axle where suspension lifts don't do that)... so yes, it will slightly increase your approach, breakover and departure angles.
I was mostly referring to public land with some trails; first on my list this fall is Palo Duro and Caprock... but next weekend my wife and I are planning on heading up to Hidden Falls Adventure Park for the weekend
Yup. That's Texas for you. And if it were me, I'd take an extra few days and do some trails in AZ and NM because once you hit Texas.. there ain't shit =(
I can't remember exactly which Austin dealership had the worst but I came close to buying from Cedar Park; but that dealership had terrible communication and refused to budge on the price; ended up being able to get a dealership here in SA and one in Corpus to fight each other on pricing for the...
Just passed 4k miles.. I think 2 months in now? Time is going by fast. TRD Jon hit 10k miles until his first issue (shutter I think). I'm also starting to see a few more, almost at least 2 or 3 daily. I don't do the ✌️Jeep thing though.
There's a slight increase in wind noise, but it's very little; nothing a radio can't solve. MPG did go down, I'd say for me maybe by 1mpg but that's going to be with any roof rack; you're disrupting the airflow over the truck and making the air more turbulent.
I 2nd this. I don't like how Toyota used thinner gauge wires for 15, 10 and 5 applications, so I made a 25amp fuse/relay box for all 3 aux buttons and the lead that toggles the relay comes from the OEM Aux relays... works just fine plus allows you to safely run thicker wires so you can up the...
That's pretty much how I did mine, x3 for each aux source. I've just never had factory aux lighting before and didn't know if you could daisy chain relays.
NYTOP has bolt-ons that replace the OEM recovery points but they don't stick out like the ones you might be looking for; if you're looking for something a bit more accessible then you'll have to install a stealth bumper that includes d-ring mounts or passthrough mounts like the NYTOP model.
Edited: Now with action shots and video
In my quest to invest in higher quality products that don't breaking the bank, I took a chance and replaced my 5 year old Nilight 40" bar that has horrible glare with a 24" bar that puts the light where you need it.. 3 lux 1000 feet and 1 lux 1800 feet...
I would have preferred a 6' bed in my OR, but I'm glad I went with 5', it barely fits in my garage. A 6' bed would not fit in my garage and while San Antonio doesn't get too many severe thunderstorms, I still want the option to be able to park it in there given the crazy weather we've been...
