That is exactly why I did my whole truck too. It is too pretty to tear up and too capable to keep it off the trails it was built to conquer.
Yep - you can do it yourself with some patience and time and if you don't want to pay a detailer that would definitely be my suggestion too.
My previous truck was a Tundra, and although it was a beast it failed the partial offset frontal collision test. It had been designed before that test was used and your chances of leg injuries were high in that kind of collision. The crash plates or pads were one of the methods Toyota used to...
Good quality PPF last a long time and should come with a warranty as @Mtnbikes said, You should only need to replace it in any high chip areas of your truck. Then it can just be peeled off and reapplied and you are good to go.
A friend without PPF on their roof has several chips there after...
The Toyota tracking system is a mess. My salesperson told me some horror stories of trucks they lost which took months to track down and finally get to their dealership. Good luck!
Yeah - Toyota's website has changed and it is harder to find.
I got there from Toyota.com by clicking "Shopping" at the top of the page. Then select "Search Inventory" and under "trucks" select either Tacoma or Tacoma hybrid. That takes you to a page where you can set your zip code and pick a...
@LuckyDog I agree on everything you said. The Beat Sonic helps but a full replacement is the only way to get a true premium sound system in a 4th gen.
You can't balance sound levels with the BS amp outputs, because only one gain setting is for the sound system and the other is for all the...
Looks Awesome!
Luckily I didn't need the rear seat space, but it would be a deal breaker for someone who did. Is there very much more space in the back of a 4Runner?
Thanks for your review. You experience is essentially the same as mine. I love my truck and appreciate it more every time I (carefully) get behind the wheel. Your sliders will make that a lot easier and like you, I plan to keep mine for a good, long time.
Basically I think it all comes down to expectations. I have been driving off road trucks for years and for me the Pro is extremely comfortable, and surprisingly civilized. The 4Runner will probably be a bit more plush, but like the Taco it is still a truck and rides like one. Checking to see...
Here are a couple of pictures of the bottom side of the bed rail cap @rybern . The front picture shows that there is just one push in clip there, so if the cap warps there is nothing to keep it level. The other picture shows a section further back and there are good many toward the rear. I think...
Hybrid 4th gens don't get close to the EPA mileage, but 8.2 mpg is nowhere near normal.
I see as low as 15 on a short urban drive with a cold engine and as high as 19-20 at moderate freeway speeds. If your TH stays at 8 mpg it is time to visit your dealer, because something is wrong.
Definitely your best answer unless/until Toyota does something to fix this. I have owned several sports cars that sat idle in Ohio winters and I replaced batteries every few years until I started using a maintainer. CTEK is one popular brand that a lot of people use which I can recommend.
A battery maintainer is what you need, which is kind of a smart trickle charger which is better for your battery. I have a couple but I have only ever needed them on toy cars that sat for a month or more at times. They will make sure that your truck is ready to go when you return home.
IMO a...
I have seen multiple reports from people with dead 12V batteries in 4th gen hybrids. It seems like Toyota is aware, because they added an alternator to some of the 2025 models.
I can see them missing that on 2024's because Toyota thought they had a sound design. What I don't understand is them...
