  1. Describe your transmission behavior.

@Andrew33 Hard shifts are never normal in any Toyota that I have owned before my 4th gen. I get the hard downshifts from 2-1 when stopping and occasionally when accelerating from 1-2. The one that scares me are the HARD shifts into reverse. They don't happen very often, but when they do it...
  2. Aftermarket Driver Side A-PIllar Grab Handle for 4th Gen?

Yeah - I don't like it much either, but that probably explains why it is designed like it is.
  3. Aftermarket Driver Side A-PIllar Grab Handle for 4th Gen?

I think there is, but there is a grab handle on the passenger side.
  4. Contacting Corporate Regarding QC and other issues

Yeah, I understand the frustration. My truck moved through this process about the same way. It moved to the port but still showed as in production phase until it was almost to the US. It was never listed as in transit. Then it just started to show estimated availability dates. It is weak system...
  5. Contacting Corporate Regarding QC and other issues

Toyota does not seem to have done a good job of predicting part needs for 4th gens. Some production has been delayed because of part shortages and replacement parts available to customers are hard to find. My truck was delivered with badly warped bed rail trim, which was already ordered in early...
  6. Toyota Wireless Trailer Camera System?

I thought that Toyota had made this work without the two additional antennas, and they were just on the prototypes. That was a running change to production trucks, so they are not on most trucks. I think that you can still add the trailer camera system without those. I know some of you guys...
  7. Contacting Corporate Regarding QC and other issues

I hope they get that fixed. IMO it sucks that you had to go through that effort to make Toyota do something that they should have done on their own, but we do what we have to do. Good luck.
  8. Trailhunter lift options

I would say that a half inch is well within expected tolerances. A lot of things can contribute to that in a production vehicle and it is not uncommon on Tacomas - it's just that Taco lean that @Vidman mentioned.
  9. Trailhunter lift options

Some variation from side to side is pretty common on a lot of vehicles. I put coilovers on my last car and measured both front and back from side to side with the stock suspension. There was a lot more difference than you would have ever guessed just from looking at the car.
  10. Carista app, what have you done??

Yeah, that would be awesome. The sound from that glorious V8 with the TRD exhaust system is one of the things that I do miss about my Tundra.
  11. Carista app, what have you done??

I did the same thing - turned it off, drove it for a few minutes and turned it right back on. Fake or real it sure sounds a lot better with it than without it to me.
  12. pulling the trigger tomorrow.

Ram sales are way down for some reason, and they have dropped prices to try and move all that inventory. That hits current owners hard because it kills resale/trade in values.
  13. pulling the trigger tomorrow.

Like @MT-Taco I came out of a 5.7 Tundra, which I loved, but I have never once regretted the move. My Tundra came from the factory with a TRD dual exhaust and it did sound wonderful.
  14. From excited to feeling nervous about my Tacoma Limited order

Same with my truck @Mini2nut. There have been some first year issues with the 4th gen, but the basic truck is solid as a rock and Limited are true luxury trucks for the first time in Tacoma land. I say go for it.
  15. 2024 Tacoma Fuel Door won’t close

Being back ordered indicates that you are probably not the first owner with this problem.
  16. New Truck/ I Phone question

If your are getting an iPhone I recommend one of their cases. People complain about the charging on 4th gens but mine works fine. I have an iPhone15 and one of their MagSafe cases and the charging always works fine.
  17. BYND 4x4 wedge camper installed

All of those upgrades look great to me. That tent is a palace. That makes this truck look rough, tough, tactical and ready to go anywhere. What a sweet rig!
  18. Morse code sounding beeping after start when below freezing

I agree with @maxx075 - a slipping belt is a lot more likely when it is cold outside. In your garage it is just warm enough, but out in the cold, it might squeal a bit until the belt warms up and then it goes away. As long as that is the only time you see it, I wouldn't worry.
  19. New Tacoma TRD PreRunner

Yes - definitely more pictures. PreRunners are still pretty rare and your SO PreRunner looks awesome. I would love to see more.
