@WKTJR1 Yeah, I guess this is not a process that any of us are familiar with. All of the Limiteds can't be sold before dealer arrival, but many of the top trims do seem to be. You would think Toyota would have the ability to find all the Limited hybrids which are not pre-sold and then let you...
@Gfenza89 You might want to pull the codes before you talk to your dealer. Your Taco could have stored them and not set the check engine light like happened on @Plumbers 1st Taco truck. That way they can't jerk you around and say there were no codes.
Yeah - totally different top hat - so no on the Icon reinforcement kit.
I guess for now I will just hope that the OEM ones are OK. At least they are not the same part that we know can fail on the other trims.
Now that really sucks!
I think you have set a new record for Toyota screwing up a delivery. Not that it really matters, but do you know what Class Two damage means?
I hope they are embarrassed enough find you a truck that is a good match to the one they damaged. I would hold their feet to the...
@Plumbers 1st Taco Good to hear that the TSB is working and your truck is getting repaired. The TSB might be why Toyota is now able to source replacement transmissions more quickly and not have the long waits.
If Toyota is right about the VINs that are affected, you should be set with a...
@TX-BluStreak You sound just like me. Did I need a TRD Pro? No way. Was that the only truck that I wanted? Definitely. Trucks cost too much today to drive something that you don't want.
I was also where you are thinking it would take me forever to get mine. I also thought that at least they...
People who have this happen should probably report it to Toyota. It definitely sounds like something that they need to fix.
Only had my truck two weeks and has not happened, but it seems to happen way too often to other people.
Congrats on your TH!
My truck was also built in Guanajuato and it was about 6 weeks between appearing as in transit to delivery in Virginia, so you are getting close.
Same engine in every trim, some with a hybrid and some without. The SR5 has the non-hybrid but that makes more hp than the old V6 and most people think it is fine.
It sounds like the curse of the Trailhunter strikes again. At least a QC hold would better than them losing your truck, like they did with the Pro in LA. Of course it sounds a bit like their story to him when no one could actually locate his truck at the port. Maybe Toyota deliveries have always...
Congrats on your Pro!
Next Monday my truck is getting PPF, which I think is important, particularly for the shiny black flairs, front end and the body sides. I have ordered sliders for my truck and soon I will get a tonneau. That's it for now.
I would like to improve the sound system, but not...
I did pretty much the same thing and I wondered if maybe my imagination had created a truck that reality couldn't match. But now that I have it I think it is even nicer than dreamed it might be and I couldn't be happier.
I waited almost 5 months for mine and it is everything I expected. I ignore the hype both good and bad online because people push the boundaries both ways to get views.
I have driven all of the competition and in no way is my truck average. I think the OP would feel differently if he had gotten...
Good description @NCEngineer and I understand the issue now. I just checked my truck and both seats do that to some extent. For whatever reason that isn't something that has happened for me when driving, so I hadn't noticed. It might change over time, since I have only driven a few hundred...
I agree that for many people any crossover based truck is all they probably need. They also have the advantage of feeling more like the cars/crossovers that people might be coming from, so they meet expectations.
But I do see clear differences between body on frame trucks and everything else...
@TigerEyeJazz Cool - I think the new 4Runner is beautiful and I bet you will love it. I know Toyota pushed back the launch - have they said yet when production will start?
I love driving my hybrid truck. It should tow really well. My 5.7l Tundra was a towing machine and it had 64 fewer ft/lbs...
@TigerEyeJazz Yeah - that is how Toyota has always rolled. It limits your choices and sometimes cost a bit more, but I just accept it to get a Toyota truck.
I think it started when most Toyota products were made in Japan. They built the mix they thought would sell, shipped them here and we...
I saw some Gulf States truck online and started to wonder if my truck was going to cost way more than I expected. Checked with my dealer and it only had two port options - door edge protectors and tailgate letters.
So not all regions bend over consumers the way Gulf States do. You may have to...
