@WKTJR1 I agree that there has been a rush to judgement here, and taking some time to see this play out is wise. But as someone getting ready to lay down somewhere around $70k out the door for a Tacoma it is eye opening.
I often try to look at the big picture. How many trucks are actually...
With the enhanced service protection the towing bs is even worse. I agree about making a claim with Toyota corporate, because this is very lame and will put a lot of buyers off.
I would also be looking into what your state's lemon laws are because that might be your best way forward. I know...
So there is a mileage limit on towing your truck when it dies? If you go somewhere and it craps out it is your fault because you were more than 25 miles from a dealer? Sorry, your new truck wasn't really meant to drive anywhere far from home. Did they just forgot to mention that part?
I plan to...
Damn - that sucks. I hope you get back home and Toyota takes care of you. It must be pretty strange trying to drive in just the top 3 gears. Even worse far from home with your family.
Good luck getting home and getting your truck fixed. Let us know how this goes.
I had a deposit at my dealer when they got an allocation for exactly what I wanted. So it essentially was sold on the day that the allocation arrived, and it has never appeared in my dealer's inventory, I assume that was because it was never available for sale.
Maybe the Toyota inventory only...
Yeah -the lip above the rear window and the top of the tailgate are probably both to improve aerodynamics.
For best aero it turns out that the key is where the airflow separates from the body.
I think most of us have always thought that. Of course most of us assume better induction systems make more power, but I have seen dyno tests showing that many don't.
So I was interested when i saw some actual wind tunnel tests (a long time ago) that showed most trucks having their aerodynamics...
That is something I have learned over the years. With my sports cars any imperfection is a big deal and must be fixed. But my trucks are tools, even though nice ones. I use them carefully but when stuff happens it does not bother me like it does on my cars.
Thanks for that tip. I am not sure I will want to add steps, and if I do, I'm still not sure exactly what I will end up getting. But I do like how those look.
The too expensive part is blown way out of proportion IMO That can easily be checked by building comparable trucks on other company's websites. The Pro and Trailhunter look expensive until you add the options to the other trucks that they come with standard.
Here is a Car and Driver article...
A long road from Guanajuato to central Virginia. And mine is a Pro, so it will take even longer.
I didn't realize that the halo specific bits were put on after assembly. That might also give them a second chance at QC so they don't deliver Pros and TrailHunters with defects. Mine should be...
Here are some better numbers. I used EPA estimates and I know not all vehicles meet them, but it is a fair comparison. I used the numbers for my 5.7L Tundra, a 4x4 non-hybrid and an i-FORCE MAX.
Tundra(5.7l): 26.4 gallons, 13/14/17 = 370 miles combined, 448.8 miles highway
Taco 4x4...
