  1. First i-Force Max Review - Questionable Power

Numbers don't lie, and the power increases for the i-FORCE MAX are significant. Comparing an OR with the base engine to a Pro gives you 56 more hp and 155 more lb-ft of torque in the hybrid. These are not slight differences. I will wait until some professional testers compare the two to make up...
  2. YOUR (honest) Pros & Cons of the 4th Gen?

I am moving from a Tundra to a Tacoma and I think a midsize is just right, at least for me. When I bought the Tundra I needed a 1/2 ton but now I don't and I want something that fits better in the city, gets better gas mileage and actually fits in my garage. Before the Tundra I had a Tacoma and...
  3. Disable fake engine noise in 2024 Tacoma 4th gen with OBD2 scanner / programmer?

OK, seems like it must really be there then. Could you hear any difference after you changed it?
  4. Disable fake engine noise in 2024 Tacoma 4th gen with OBD2 scanner / programmer?

Thanks - that is good to know. Some things no doubt changed for the 4th gen but a lot of things are going to stay the same. I can't get any consistent info on fake engine noise in the 4th gen. I think the best source is hearing from people like you who own them. Just because it was used in the...
  5. Disable fake engine noise in 2024 Tacoma 4th gen with OBD2 scanner / programmer?

I just checked the Carista website and they don't list 4th gen Tacos, only 3rd gen. I assume that will change one of these days. You can get your dealer to change this stuff, at least they did that for me on my Tundra.
  6. Disable fake engine noise in 2024 Tacoma 4th gen with OBD2 scanner / programmer?

Great video and the Tundra sounds a lot better without that fake V8 noise IMO. I have been meaning to check out a Carista module to do the custom setting for both my wife's SUV and my Taco once I get it, so it was super helpful to see how easy it is to use.
  7. Tonneau Cover Recommendations?

I am considering a Truxedo Sentry hard, roll up tonneau. I don't have one but I have read several owner's reviews from people who really like them. It looks good on a Taco and provides bed security without getting in your way when you want to really use the bed. It is expensive, but all the...
  8. Disable fake engine noise in 2024 Tacoma 4th gen with OBD2 scanner / programmer?

Pretty sure what you are hearing is injector noise. This engine has both port and direct injection, so lots of noisy injectors can create quite a racket.
  9. 2024 Tacoma TRD Pro deliveries have begun it appears!

That is pretty lame, and not a problem I even heard of before. But insurance companies are very touchy these days jumping on any excuse to avoid covering your vehicle. I moved to a new state last year and State Farm gave me insurance and then cancelled it because of a claim from three years...
  10. Boost gauge bad boy

No matter how humid it is you should not have any drips on your foot. If my truck did that I would talk to the dealer about it and at least get your concern recorded with them.
  11. 2024 Tacoma TRD Pro deliveries have begun it appears!

Beautiful truck. Congrats and tell us what it is like to drive. My wife's new SUV has a camera system like that and it is really helpful. It should be a great addition to the Taco both in tight city spaces and on the trail. The halos come with it standard and it probably comes with the premium...
  12. Finally secured a Truck. But first a rant...

A lot of this is just the luck of the draw due to Toyota's strange distribution system. If they happen to send your choice of trim/color/powertrain to a dealer(s) you work with and you are first in line, you win. If that doesn't happen for a long time, you lose. Pretty much a crap shoot from...
  13. Finally secured a Truck. But first a rant...

The video resolution looks really good. I will have to think about getting that and thanks for the post.
  14. Finally secured a Truck. But first a rant...

That was my experience in Central Ohio even with five Toyota dealers in the Columbus metro area. About 30 miles from my new house in Crozet there is a Toyota dealer in Saunton, VA. Total straight shooters, no markups and they did exactly what you suggested. They just checked my preferences...
  15. AC dripping cold water in drivers side floor?

Wow - that evaporator screw up is going to cost Toyota a ton in both money and customer satisfaction. Toyota might be better off to just stop sales until they can deliver trucks without this problem. You have to think that there are a lot more out there, just from the sample on this forum. I...
  16. Finally secured a Truck. But first a rant...

That is something that really pisses me off too. A year ago I was trying to find a manual 2023 and there were none to be found in my region. That didn't stop several dealers from spamming me on a regular basis, even though I was clear that was all I was interested in.
  17. Finally secured a Truck. But first a rant...

Yeah - I would be too. The hybrid was a must have for me, but it sounds like you were on a schedule, which luckily I was not. Having to driving my Tundra for a while longer was not a problem for me, even though I am definitely ready to move back to a Taco.
  18. Finally secured a Truck. But first a rant...

Glad to hear that you finally found your truck Bill. Sorry that it was so frustrating, but finding a first year, popular Toyota product is virtually guaranteed to be PITA.
  19. 2024 Tacoma TRD Pro deliveries have begun it appears!

Same here. I think that is the price we pay for the fancy seat suspension, which is a fair trade off IMO.
  20. 2024 Tacoma TRD Pro deliveries have begun it appears!

Congrats - The TRD Pro looks so good in white. My Pro will have those tailgate inserts and I would not have chosen them either. But yours look good and I will wait until I have mine for a bit before I decide whether to take them off or not. Let us know what you decide about removing them.
