I completely understand. No one would be happy to have a dealer tear the interior of their new truck apart when it had just been delivered. I was asking if, as far as you can tell, the repair was done right. Personally I would not trust any dealer to do that much work on my new truck and not...
Are you happy with how this came out? Do all the dash parts still fit correctly and are there any new rattles or vibrations? That would be my reason to question letting them fix this at a dealership.
The drain plug on my Tundra is the same way, and that means you can not really drain out all of the oil or anything that settled to the bottom of the sump. Sometimes I raise the driver's side and a fair amount of oil drains out.
It may be to protect the drain plug, but that seems like overkill...
I saw in interview with Sheldon Brown where he said that all of the special models would be made in Guanajuato. I assume that means at least TH and Pro, but that could mean any premium models including Limited or Off-Road as well
Yeah - they might not have gotten around to updating their website yet. Some dealers want credit for getting a hard to find grade and hope it will be free advertising, even if the truck is not really available.
Thanks for that info, which makes perfect sense. It is very Toyota like to have different driveline components on one platform, depending on the use of the vehicle and engine power.
I think the engines come from Alabama but I have no idea where rear ends or transmission are assembled. Hopefully...
I agree. My dealer has never listed my truck in their inventory, I guess because I had a deposit down before it was allocated.
It is likely that my dealer is just unusually honest as car dealers go. lol
Wow - that is some sloppy QC, especially from Toyota. I will have to make sure that I take the time to carefully check out my truck before signing any papers. It seems like there are an unusual number of paint and mechanical defects from these new Mexican plants.
I had a silver 2005 that had...
PPF is great for stone chip areas and does an excellent job of protecting your paint. I plan to get PPF on the front clip of my Taco and all four flairs.
Ceramic coatings are good for keeping your truck clean - think of it as super nice car wax.
I got a TRD Pro allocation last Wednesday. It is scheduled to be built between 7/29 and 8/4. I expect to received it around the end of September, early October.
I was expecting to have to wait quite a bit longer, so no complaints from me if it slips a bit behind schedule.
I don't agree about no real benefit. The hybrid has significantly more power than the base engine and gets better fuel economy.
The 4th gen Tacoma iForce Max has more torque than my 5.7 L Tundra engine and gets twice the MPG. That seems like a pretty significant benefit to me.
