Love the truck but don’t find the rattle acceptable. I’ve sent an email to the Service manager at my dealer to get his thoughts. Seems like this has been an issue with Tacoma’s for a long time.
Anyone else genuinely impressed with how the 4G Tacoma handles itself on the road? I’m coming from a 3 series BMW and while it’s clearly no comparison it’s certainly a far cry from the typical “truck” dynamics. Half ton pick ups drive like a boat in comparison. Loving this chassis, engine, and...
Not sure why anyone would opt for this one over the OEM version given the price equivalence. It also doesn’t add 5 horsepower since it lacks the TRD lettering. Pass.
Anything further to add? I’d like to take mine in to be addressed but hoping to get more feedback on what actually works before they go tearing my door panel apart.
Happy with the build quality of mine so far. Well put together. Just need to address the window rattle issue and then also I’ve recently gotten a sensor malfunction error for the safety systems. I didn’t expect it to be a perfectly sorted truck given it’s a the first year of a new gen. No complaints
Honestly, who gives a shit. It’s a truck. If you’re bent over gas expenses then buy a Prius. I’ve gotten 24 mpg out of mine and I’ve gotten 12 depending on the trip. People complaining on here about the mpgs on a truck are laughable. No one buys a Tacoma for the fuel economy.
I assume it’s not normal then to feel a clunk over sharp pot holes? The shocks otherwise seem great but I get a random clunk from the front left side over some otherwise mundane road imperfections that force a quick rebound. Possibly I got a defective shock but some on here have mentioned it’s...
Wondering what the consensus is on the stock OR shocks in comparison to the previous gen 51 and 61 series Bilsteins. Are these better than those given that they’re dual reservoir? It’ll be interesting to see what aftermarket options Bilstein will have later this summer. I imagine they’ll have a...
If it’s truly an updated diff then Toyota needs to come forward with info. I have a hard time believing that it’s updated because that would imply that there’s a flaw in the original design. They would be required to disclose that. Not dismissing your claim but will be interesting to see what...
Makes sense I guess. Toyota is all about reliability and encouraging people to run their tank low consistently is hard on the fuel pump. That’s my theory anyways.
Low fuel light came on and I drove it to the pump with about 20 miles remaining per the computer. It took 14 gallons to fill which would imply that there was 4 gallons in the tank. Wondering if theyre overly conservative on purpose or if this will be a future software update to more accurately...
