So I went through this exercise and went with LT 275/70/18 Falken Wildpeak AT4Ws. Amazing all around, but ride a little hard as they are E loads. But I want more diameter and sidewall. Hard to get over 33” unless you go LT (most non-LT cap out at 32.6” and to me that’s significantly smaller...
Tires make an enormous difference. Nitto makes a few SL options, so does General and a few others. The Mickey Thompsons in SL also look good. But why can’t they be bigger!
Both are great but not sure I want tires that wide. My 275s are already super wide.
The 34.3” would rub without crash pad removal. (295s)
I wish nokian made 285/70/18 (33.7)
I thought about those as well and may swap mine for the Nokian Outpost NAT in the same size I have now (275/70/18) - also E load but lighter than mine. Discount extended my trial with my tires so I have some more time to decide if I keep the Falkens. Discount said the Nokians in E load will be...
When any of the Goodyear companies make a 275/70/18 in C load or D load, please ping me. I'd love to buy some Mickeys or your tires but I prefer a lower load rating. My Falkens are E and very durable, but all Es ride kinda hard.
Did anyone ever figure out the exact travel numbers for the OR, PRO, and TH? I do think there is at least a small amount of extra travel in the halo models because of the UCA.
YESSSSSS! HALO PARTY! Are we going to be accused of being snobs? Let’s F-ing do this and put out an APB. Let me throw out dates and locations. Stand by.
Where in H town?
Hahaha yeah. My old plate was ALLL HAT on my stolen Trd PRO. I put that on there when the folks out in the country teased me for being a Houston city boy with a lime green truck. So I was like yes, I am all hat no cattle!
I was going to call toyota and some of the tire manufacturers as well. So I’m in total alignment. Needs to be a mix of social / checking out each others rigs, light wheeling through a park, and possibly camping / you tubing/ meeting with folks who do mods etc. my hope so minimum 10 of us.
Yes - trending toward Utah or Colorado so all of us can get there within 2 days of driving — also I will be bringing my son so not sure if others are bringing kids and prefer a time when school is out - will keep gathering input on times and places and make multiple proposals
I just moved to E range Falkens and it just really takes the ride quality down a notch—way bumpier. But you know that. I did the load calculations and your pressures are right on target. I came up with 36-37 being recommended. But I dropped a few PSI from that for the ride quality and it...
