THAT!
What you're describing is a lack of circulation, and the culprit has to be the fan, if the problem doesn't present at road speeds. Get it checked.
Up here (in the Great Lakes) we run stuff in part time 4wd ,at freeway speeds, all winter long. Nothing to worry about.
Where your son might be headed in dad's Tacoma in 4wd is another matter.
Definitely interested in towing experiences and MPG, especially from those with a 4-5000lb camper. Maybe by the end of this camping season we can collect info. Also curious if the iForceMax users have run their AC on the inverter.
Congrats on locating useful springs. And on a great looking build.
Tundra guys have been using LC300 springs, too, so it would stand to reason that Tundra coils fit the Tacoma as well.
Hopefully they avail the Extra Cab to a few more trims, especially as a (minimally different) TRD OR and a TH, especially with big-ass leaf packs and high GVW.
Of course, this doesn't help anyone with their fancy seats. 2nd row platform instead of seats would at least be useful.
the OR is a little taller up front and obviously has a different rear suspension from the SR. SR/SR5 tread width is also 1cm narrower, the base wheel off-set is probably 5mm greater.
Even though the Tacoma is built in Mexico and the LC in Japan, the hybrid systems use many of the same parts, along with the Tundra and Sequoia. There can simply be total parts availability limitations. I think they’ll launch the Pro and TH on time, but might limit numbers even more and the...
Possible issues (in my tiny mind):
CV had a manufacturing/assembly defect?
CV was the incorrect part (possible there are multiple CV parts for different trims?)
Center axle disconnect wasn’t engaged fully (due to a burr on something) ?
Failure was actually in the t-case?
I seriously doubt...
Nice to see some attention on the SR5. Not surprised by the rear springs being a little soft. Once the landcruiser aftermarket stuff comes online, there should be good spring with higher rates to pop in there
Looks like SRs are shipping with Aluminum wheels right now.
I'm curious to know how the thing RIDES. Losing the rear coil suspension is probably the hardest thing to look past.
