First tank - break in period = 22.3 mpg (Stock TRD Off Road, non-hybrid, automatic).
Second and third = 20.2 mpg.
If I get 20 I'm happy, the first tank was mostly all under 70 mph, second and third a mix. Little to no cruise control, mostly flat, 87 octane. I've always beat stated MPG but...
Other than the debate between F-150 and Tacoma you sound like me. I've gotten the hardcore 4-wheeling out of my system with Jeeps and then a Bronco. Mountain Biking cured that itch a bit, so I just switched to a 2025 TRD Off Road for the same rationale as you, crappy roads/forest roads, etc...
I'm looking for a TRD Off Road - Black or Underground with a MT in the Southeast, base model. I'd like to get it to $41-$42k depending on added options (really the only thing I want is a 14" screen).
I'm actually debating this used one, it's the color and trim I want. I don't really care about the Upgrade package, but I do like the larger screen. My main issue is the fender bender and mileage, trying to get it to $35k otd with 7y/100k Gold Certified, and maybe a set of tires thrown in...
Yeah I'm looking too, I'll tell you avoid the JL manual if at all possible. The clutch is vague, the gearing (at least on the Rubicon) feels off, and I had the recall which has caused nothing but issues for one of my friends with one (limp mode intermittently). I sold mine to Carvana for more...
Hey, I have a Bronco 2 door and love the manual in it. I removed the back seats (just wife and I along with 2 dogs) to carry stuff along with a bike rack and roof rack (factory). I'm debating the Tacoma, how does the manual compare to the Bronco?
It's difficult at best to find one on the east...
Looks like the MSRP only went up about $300 on the TRD Off Road based on this build and comparing to the B&P for the 2025: https://smartpath.toyota.com/inventory/details?source=t1&dealerCd=45100&vin=3TMLB5JNXTM46D008&type=new
Yeah, never negotitate in person. The only times I go to a dealer is to buy one or to test drive a new model, and I make it clear all I want to do is test drive and then research. If they don't like it, tough sh%t, I've had better than expected luck with my local dealer, but.......I'm just...
Yeah, I kinda like that color in the 4Runner, I'm not sure on the Tacoma. Solar Octane was my pick, but......I waffled back and forth on keeping my Bronco vs a Tacoma in 2024. May just wait it out.
Yeah, right now it's in route, but it's a TRD Off Road - Black, 14" screen, bed scene lighting, and bedliner add-ons (along with Toyoguard, etc.). I wanted one pretty base and out of the add-ons that are on most of them I'm ok with those. TMSRP is $47,929, I'm walking out the door at $43,250...
Yeah, just pulled the trigger. I may miss the Bronco....but after 20 years with a Jeep or a Bronco, I'm kinda ready for a truck again. I've just gotten to the point where I'm not hardcore 4 wheeling based on where I live (but still need 4wd when I'm camping/biking), and I want the flexibility of...
I'm debating the same move from a 2 door Bronco. I haven't had any major issues, just some quirks. Mainly just looking at having a truck again (last one was in 2006 - '93 22R-E). How's the move been?
Bumping this thread, I think I'm switching to a Tacoma. The bulk of the issues with sand and wetness will be taken care of with.........a truck bed. Ha....right now with the Bronco I basically just throw everything in the rear, and then with the top off or whatever the sand blows everywhere...
Thanks, and I think I'm right down the road from you in Charleston, I ride up around Clemson (Stumphouse and Saluda) quite a bit, going to Kanuga and Pisgah this weekend.
I'm thinking about making the switch to a Tacoma, I"ll have a bike on a tailgate pad a lot of the time. I don't have to lock it often, but after a ride if I need to run in somewhere I use this fairly large Kryptonite bike lock...
