I have a DRT Fab Hitch Skid and it is a fine piece of craftsmanship but…I’m looking for something more snug to the hitch. It sticks out a little further than I want on my Tacoma. Any suggestions?

Is it possible to chop off the recovery point in order to make it more compact?

Most hitch skids are boat anchors that will hang up much sooner, and probably cause more issues than they prevent.

After a quick Google search the best low profile option I could find was the 41.22 recovery point with a small skid built in.

They have a bunch of other colors too. I've never seen one of their products in person so I can't vouch for anything. But they look pretty good.

I have the 41.22 hitch slider installed on my Taco. Since it doubles as a recovery point it still protrudes from the hitch face about 2.5 inches but then wraps around the bottom of the hitch.
