This is what they emailed me when I asked:

"You can torque those M10 bolts to 37ft-lbs and the 1/2" bolts to 55ft-lbs."
Did you have a hard time starting the m10 bolts by hand? Mine seem really tight almost like these bolts are not the correct size for the frame thread

Did anyone have trouble threading the m10 bolts? Mine seem like they’re the wrong size and I’m not trying to cross thread my frame threads

Mine went it fine, they didnt thread " easy" I guess but I got them started. I used anti sieve and ran them in and back out with small impact. Not sure what plastic bracket you're referring too. I dont think I even looked at the instructions lol. The video on their website was more than sufficient

Yeah mines a long bed and they recently changed their design so there’s no updated instructions lol. Did yours have the L brackets?

I just got mine delivered and installed today. Took me about 3 hours to do it all by myself with some jack stands and a floor jack. The longest part was making sure I had everything and that I was installing them correctly as I think I got their updated design as there is plenty of space for the grounding wires to be reinstalled and there is no through bolts to install either. I believe there was 11 17mm bolts on each side that went into the frame. I also wasn't aware that on the TRD Pro you have to remove the factory "rock sliders" as they will prevent the Cali Raised ones from mounting correctly didn't see that in any of the instructions that I could find. Those factory ones are super lightweight and don't really protect you from anything, they were super easy to take off. The 2 gold bolts I believe were to be used on the grounding wires but I just reused the factory ones and I had like 4 left over bolts and nuts for the filler plate too.

Nice work knocking that out solo—that's no small job, especially getting everything lined up with just jack stands and a floor jack.

You're right, the updated Cali Raised rock slider design makes things way easier now:

  • No through bolts
  • Tons more clearance for grounding wire reinstallation
  • Just those 11 17mm bolts per side into factory frame holes—super clean

And yeah, on the TRD Pro Tacomas, you do need to remove those factory "rock sliders" (more like glorified step bars, honestly). They look beefy but don’t offer real protection off-road. Weird that the instructions didn’t call that out—definitely a good heads-up for other Pro owners.

Reusing the factory grounding bolts is totally solid too, and a few leftover filler plate fasteners is normal depending on how you mounted things.

They honestly take less than an hour to install with 2 guys. 1 person could do it in 1 30 min easy.
