Yeah, I'm a project manager for new construction, I had 2 screws in my stock tires within 200 miles lol. I have found E rated tires are great at deflecting screws. I didn't expect to upgrade this early either.
Your comment made me smile.

The tires on our Trailhunter are the best examples of rim protectors I’ve seen in ages. Seriously, I think they're cousins to the balloon.

I’ve always had a simple rule for offroading: keep enough tread on the tire so the pointy stuff can’t reach the tire.

On our Jeep Wrangler, I ran a set of KO2s up to 61,000 miles. They were half-worn by then—down to about 7.5–8mm—so I swapped them for a set of Mickey Thompson Baja Boss A/Ts with a healthy 14.7mm of tread.

Just walked out with my TDI and a gauge to check: with 150 miles on 'em, the GY Wrangler Territory RT's current tread s at 8mm. Checking online, I find the RTs can range from 8.7-12.7mm. As a serious offroader, I'm disappointed Toyota didn't source something like a KO3.

Hi Congo, nice looking truck and tires. Any updates on the tires, i.e. rubbing, quietness, etc.? Looking at these compared to the Yokos. Thanks.
