4x4 Selector Switch / Knob / Dial Button Stuck or Will Not Engage / Depress

Hello Taco Land,

I have a dial to shift into 4L/4H/2H. The button will not work to shift unless I wiggle the shifter a lot until it finally goes in, almost having to get lucky or force the button in. Once it can be pressed, it usually allows me to press it in for a while and then I will notice it stuck again. Everything shifts well when I am able to turn the knob/dial. I noticed that someone else had this issue. How can I fix this?

BTW it is not my gears. All of my fluids are accurate and to spec.

Had an issue with that selector switch - not yours, btw - and brought it to the dealer. FYI when i picked it up the service manager told me that to replace the switch with labor out of warranty is $900. I'd hit the dealership.
