Great advice. I have done the same on my truck.Taking this into a solution direction. Don't piggyback those those add-a-fuse taps to an existing fuse location. There are plenty of empty fuse locations in our fuse boxes. You don't need to piggyback off an existing circuit. Here is a pic of my fuse box. The locations marked in yellow are hot. The ones not marked are "switched" off the key. Pick one of the empty locations to run your fuse taps.
Also, remember you fuse to protect the wire, not the device. Size the wire for the device, but size the fuse for the wire. Use the fuse tap to power a relay if necessary.
Here is one of my fuse taps in a vacant fuse location. Note you will need to use two fuses to complete the circuit.
