Many people are not aware that if you’re a Costco member, you can go on their website and under Auto Program there’s a look up for local dealers for all brands. You find a local dealer, and Costco will send you a 15% off coupon for parts, accessories, and service that is reusable and also usable at any time.

That’s how it works. You enter your ZIP Code on the Costco page and it shows you all the participating dealers around you. My local dealer is not on that list because they run their own discount parts store online but a different dealer a few miles away is on that list. I would actually just bring the coupon to whatever dealers closest and say I have a coupon and see what they do.

Also, I just checked what happens when I put in the zip code for my nearest Toyota dealer (one hour away): the Costco program returns two independent shops but not the dealer. So this will not work for me to get any discounts from the dealer. I suspect dealers have to opt in (and pay $) to be in the "Costco" program which is not run by Costco. Costco merely sold their name to that company which has just harvested my contact info and VIN number. And undoubtedly already resold it at a tidy profit. I hate this kind of thing.

Pretty sure they can’t sell the Info. The auto program is managed by Costco, but leverage is a bunch of different vendors and suppliers. The percentage off you’re seeing in this case is for service and repair at those centers and I know they adhere to more strict pricing because they don’t wanna lose the Costco referrals. If you can expand your search a bit and find a Toyota dealer, personally I would print the coupon for that dealer and take it to yours and see if they will match it. I know from experience that at the parts counter they have given me employee pricing on some stuff if they were in the right mood which is more than 15%. Worth a shot!
