Don't all new Tacomas have a locking tail gate? Locks automatically when you lock your doors. Does anyone leave their doors unlocked and then worry about their tail gate being stolen? What am I missing?

I am guilty of having closed my tailgate without locking it. This is to try to protect idiots like me.

Can you lock the doors without locking the tailgate? When I hit the button everything locks. I would be more concerned about leaving the doors unlocked than having the tailgate "unsecured".

I'd be more worried about people stealing stuff out of the bed, vs. the tailgate itself.

I’m not sure. This may have happened when I had a dead battery.
