Adding MTS and Crawl Control to a TRD Sport - EASY!

ATRAC comes on all the trucks. standard 4hi and 4lo will traverse everything MTS can. It's not a huge a difference in my opinion. I had a GX460 that I added an actual MTS and Crawl CPU to get it to work. That truck also has ATRAC standard. Couldn't tell the difference because both systems help isolate the challenges of the road from the user.

Not all vehicles have ATRAC. I have 2x 4Runners with ATRAC. 1 18 Tacoma with MTS only and one 26 Tacoma with just an Auto LSD. (Edit. I was wrong 4th gen Tacoma SR5 have ATRAC that automatically engages in 4lo).

ATRAC and MTS both use a computer to use the brake system to transfer power to the wheel getting grip. ATRAC is only in 4LO and you get one setting. MTS can be used in 4Hi and 4LO it also gives you different settings for different terrain.

When i'm talking about all trucks, i'm talking about the 4th gen tacoma and all the 4x4 trims available. Even in 4hi you will see ATRAC work as demonstrated by TFL albeit not as aggressive. It's no longer just 4LO.

News to me, that’s awesome. I did look into it and saw that it automatically engages in 4Lo unlike previous gen vehicles where you have to engage it.
