Air Conditioning Screen

Question for everyone. When you're running your AC is there anything on the climate screen. Whenever I flip the switches I see different icons but I figured the screen would keep those icons on. All I see is a black screen most of the time. Is this what everyone else sees?

In AUTO mode I think it stays black? Pick a mode with the button and it all stays on the screen is what I found.

Forgot to post this sooner, but I tried out @RFish 's suggestion and it worked. In AUTO the screen is blank but if you control the AC manually, the icons stay lit.
