All about ceramic coating - should I purchase, how does maintenance look?

I’ve installed ceramic coating on my ‘23 Integra for $40. It lasted 3 years and was guaranteed 2 years minimum. It’s a bright Apex Blue Pearl. I’ll redo it in the next few months in between truck mods.

I got Pure PPF installed on my truck by a shop ($$$$) to not only protect it, but change it from Ice Cap White to something that looks like Bronze Oxide but in a satin finish.

Then I bought a ceramic coating intended for PPF and it looks fantastic (BeadLock Wrap). It’s a good idea to protect the PPF from UV damage, bird bombs, road grime. I also put UV spill protectant on my seats. Right after my coating job a few days ago, I took a road trip of over 1000 miles and the truck has stayed quite clean. Bug splats have been easy to remove.

Another DIY install that I did a few weeks ago was BeadLock Glass. After cleaning the exterior glass, then using glass polish, and obsessively attacking the worst water spotting along the edges of the glass (mainly the front windshield), it was a quick installation to do the whole truck.
It has been great on my road trip to squeegee the windshield clean at each gas station stop.

Yes it's worth it. Think of a layer of liquid glass over your paint. But the paint needs to be prepped right before it's applied, best to have a professional do it. I have PPF on front bumper and grill, on my black shiny fender flares, rocker panels, headlights and areas by back wheels that gets peppered sprayed by front tires. Professional grade ceramic coating flashes fast and can leave high spots if you are not use to applying it.

I have ceramic coating on my Taco and Macan. Expensive yes, but the both clean off super easy and looks like a fresh wax all the time. Helps protect from sap and bird droppings. I park my truck in the driveway sometimes (mostly parked in the garage) and my trees are always dripping some sap so this is a nice thing to have if your in an environment that exposes the truck to stuff like this.

My dealer offered me a "Permeant Wax" for $1000 when I bought my truck last spring and I passed. It was an overpriced scam add on. I went to my local detailer that I have been using and coated the Taco and the glass. I find the ceramic glass coating very convenient and saves me from apply RainX every so many months.
