Anyone else having trouble with mpg rates?

Using the controls on the steering it’s in the cluster options. I forget how to change it

gives me a start, I saw the trip odometer there but no mpg there. Think I saw something on radio display too. Have not had a chance to look through manual yet. Wish it had trip mpg on trip odometer. I will calculate manually too until I have a feel for it.

thanks for the help. 2 nd Tacoma for me, and 2 sr5’s before they called them tacomas. All different, this one is a 2024 trd.

Yes. It's in the settings for the instrument display. Here's an overview of how to make changes.

There is a "fuel economy" setting which controls whether to use average since reset or average for trip.
There is an acceleration setting for the cruise control with high/mid/low.

just joined the forum a few days ago, so pretty new here. Picked up a TRD Sport last week and so far so good, ~300 miles on odometer. Mileage so far however has not been great. Right now I'm getting about 16 mpg without the chin of an air dam on the front (UP from 15 with it on, make that make any sense) but to me that doesn't seem right. I have seen others getting upwards of 22-23 highway without breaking a sweat. Haven't been flooring the thing either and placed drive mode into 'Eco' that hasn't solved much. Any thoughts/solutions would be great, don't feel like filling up every 250 miles.

2025 Tacoma bought new 9 months ago, 5K+ miles, conservative driver - my experience - new mileage was 16 mpg, however, with combined suburban and some highway trips it has edged up to 18.3 mpg using top tier gas. So your mpg may increase as engine gets broken in the first 10K miles. According to other reporting on the net, the air dam in front is worth about 0.07 to 0.08% increase in mpg, generally at highway speeds. Overall, between the mediocre gas mileage and the small 18 gallon tank, the trip range is disappointing.

Having owned 6 Tacomas before my '26, my expectations on fuel economy was low. But my particular rig has really surprised me. It's getting great fuel mileage (great for a truck anyway) and considerably better than I figured it would.
