Nowhere close to touching the 4x4 selector with my legs. 6'5" and 240 lbs.

I don't have this issue, but my theory is it has something to do with one's inseam. I'm 6ft with a longer inseam than shorter people and the selector is going to be towards my knee and not my butt. If you have shorter legs, you are going to move the seat forward so you can reach the pedals and I think that is where people's thighs start hitting / touching the selector switch. Add in those big American thighs, and you have a potential issue.
THIS - I'm 6'4", and usually drive with the seat all the way back. A few weeks ago I accidentally actually engaged 4H while getting into the truck with my knee somehow rubbing it (pushing the button just right as I moved my knee and rotating the switch). I didn't realize until after I started to drive home when it became obvious 4HI was on accelerating from a stop.
