Hey Tacoma owners ,

One of the things we hear a lot from this community is how quickly truck bed space fills up—between rooftop tents, recovery boards, tools, and camping gear, there’s never enough room.

That’s why we wanted to share something we’ve been working on: a universal adjustable bed rack that’s a bit different from the usual setups. It features two full-length crossbars, each with T-slot channels built in. Instead of just being a frame, the T-slots turn the rack into a mounting platform for whatever you need:

  • Secure MOLLE panels for tools or recovery kits
  • Add fuel cans, recovery boards, or lights for overlanding
  • Even mount a fold-down table for campsite cooking

It’s built from powder-coated aerospace-grade aluminum, rated at 600 lbs on-road / 400 lbs off-road, so it handles both work loads and weekend adventures without adding too much weight. Installation is straightforward—no drilling required.

We know every Tacoma build is unique, so we’d love to hear from you:
👉 Do you prefer racks with simple crossbars, or do you like having T-slot / MOLLE systems to expand over time?
👉 What’s been your go-to setup for mixing work and adventure gear?

Looking forward to seeing your builds and ideas 📸

Many of us have tonneau covers. I have the ReTrax Pro XR so anything I might get to mount on the bed rails needs to fit in its T- channel rails. I don’t think these trucks have stake holes because of the composite bed construction :( but if stake holes could somehow be created or something that serves that function for strength and mounting all kinds of accessories, that would solve many problems for modern Tacoma owners.

Your rack would need to be easy to remove so I can have an open bed truck when I’m not in a camp / adventure trip. I have house projects which require me to pick up wood, gravel, mulch, and large items for a house renovation.

That’s really helpful feedback, thanks for sharing. Compatibility with tonneau covers like the ReTrax Pro XR is something a lot of Tacoma owners bring up, so making sure the rack ties into the T-channel rails is definitely on our radar. The point about stake holes is a good one too — the composite bed makes things tricky, but creating a mounting system that adds strength and flexibility would solve a lot of headaches.

We also agree on the need for easy removal. A rack should be solid when loaded, but still come off without much hassle when you need the bed open for weekend projects or hauling materials. That balance between adventure gear and day-to-day utility is exactly what we’re aiming for. Appreciate your perspective here.

Looks functional, but I prefer a full cap,
to meet my needs so I don't have to continually take something off to put something on. This way I have everything I need all the time and is safe.

Makes sense — a full cap definitely has its advantages, especially if you want everything stored securely and ready to go without swapping setups. Our idea with the rack was more for folks who need the flexibility to switch between an open bed and extra storage, but I can see how a cap solves that by keeping everything protected all the time. Appreciate you sharing your take — it’s always good to hear different approaches depending on what people need most.
