Hey all,

I've looked into the process of purchasing a Sport hood to swap out with my OR for aesthetic reasons, but its a bit much for a little hood scoop. I came across a Black Sport hood on FB Marketplace for a reasonable price and am considering just sticking that guy on. 2 tone is hit and miss for me, but I thought the black hood might fit with the other black accents on the OR (except it will be glossy vs the matte accents). Im having a hard time visualizing it though and cant find any pictures of what it would look like so not sure if I should go for it.

Anyone come across this setup before? Do you think it will look tacky or out of place?

I don't wanna swipe someone else's truck pic. But you should check out @JCNFLA truck. His truck is two toned and he painted his sport hood black. Does it clash? No, not really. Would it work on your truck? Probably. But if I were completely honest, I would try getting the sport hood in your color (bronze oxide) and just paint the scoop black instead of the whole thing (kinda like how the Pro look).

If you decide to go the bronze sport hood route, you can also purchase the pro hood scoop, which is what I did. I think it looks great….but I didn’t have to buy the whole hood as I have a sport.

Yeah, my ideal route would be bronze oxide sport hood with a black hood scoop like the Pro has. I priced it out using the part #s shared here and it was just a bit much for a minor cosmetic change.

Still pricey with you having to get everything, but I got my Pro Scoop from Fred Anderson Toyota (my go to as they always seem to offer free shipping) for $136 delivered.

Are the scoops different on the Sport than the Pros? I always thought they looked the same, just that the Pros are painted Black.

Didn't you say you found a black sport hood on FB marketplace? If you do end up getting that; you would have to remove the scoop (since it's already BLK) and paint the rest of the hood Bronze Oxide. Either way...it's gonna cost ya.

Pretty sure they are the same. They have different part numbers because the Pros are already painted and the sports just come primed and require painting.

I wouldn't get the one off marketplace to paint it, I'd put it on as is which is why I was wondering how it would look with a black hood. I haven't seen any Sport hoods in Bronze Oxide available, but maybe I'll just wait it out and see if one pops up.

They are identical minus the paint. pro=gloss black - other requires paint. My next is black mirror covers to match the scoop.

How was the install on that scoop?
Did you paint the scoop and if so, how did you go about it?
Any tips that are worthy of being passed on?
