Cig Lighter/12v Removal

I am trying to tap into the power of the back of the cig lighter. Has anyone removed it, what is the best way to either pull it out or get to the plug from the rear?

The whole panel where the cigarette lighter and wireless charger (if equipped) comes out/off relatively easily. Just have to get a plastic pry tool as it is attached just by clips.

Nope, no screws.

What worked for me was using a pry tool on the sides to get the top corner(s) loose, then work the top corners to get the actual top of the panel to pop out. It will eventually pop loose and you remove it up and at an angle towards the gear shifter.

Do you need to remove the shifter tray first?

May make it easier, but not required.
