I too am suffering the lack of parking mode trigger on the Dongar Pro for the VIOFO A229 dashcam.

A few things I’ve managed to figure out:
-VIOFO says that parking mode is only RELIABLY triggered using their hardwire kit. This is because it connects to an ACC source and the camera detects the absence of ACC power to trigger parking mode.

-VIOFO says that parking mode can be triggered after 5 minutes (approximately) of inactivity. I think this is probably why certain posters have been successful having parking mode triggered in their garage, while others struggle in public parking areas with surrounding activity.

-I’ve found statements that support these conditions on the Dongar site in the past - I have not checked recently to see if there has been an update.

The Dongar Pro I bought does a great job of supplying continuous power to my dashcam and helped me get a sweet and clean install with ease. But basically, it’s working like the OG Dongar adapter. So yeah, I’m disappointed and trying to find a solution with the rest of you.

I’ve kept all my original packing material, documentation, cables, box, etc. and I hope to either get some consideration if/when I buy the next version mentioned in this thread, or that someone with a different cam wants to buy my adapter.

then again, I might just hardwire it and be done with it.

@Dongar please keep us posted on any new product advancements.

Has anyone been able to find a dashcam with parking mode that works with just the Dongar Pro(ie not using a hardwire or tapping into fusebox)? I have the Viofo A229Pro but would like to avoid hardwiring.
