Hi, I'm new here, thanks for your help.

I'm considering replacing my stock TRD OR shocks with Falcon front coilovers and adjustable rear shocks.

In the install video, they say to remove the hub nut to replace the front shock. I don't understand why. It will be my first diy suspension job, so maybe I'm missing something.

Here's the install video :

Do I really nead to remove the hub nut ?

No! Upper ball joint, brake line brackets, sway bar, maybe loosen the lower control arms? Only if you can’t get the new shocks slipped in?

Ok!

Thanks for the response MT-Taco.

I did not understand what would be achieved by loosening this nut...

I was interested in knowing why they say to remove the hub nut in the install video. So I asked Teraflex directly and got this answer.

"Hi Daniel,

Thank you for reaching out. The reason we recommend removing the hub nut is to allow the CV axle to move independently from the knuckle. This provides a bit of extra articulation in the knuckle, which makes it easier to remove and install the coilovers.

It’s not strictly necessary to remove it, but doing so can make the installation process a little easier."
