New Truck will be ready in October. What do you recommend for the northeast winters? Fluid film? Wool wax? Other? First new vehicle, I’ve always been a touch less undercarriage spray car wash kind of guy, but want to protect this truck a bit more. Thanks

I used fluid film on my tundra. after 8 years the frame was as new from the factory.. purchased my trailhunter in October of last year and had wool wax sprayed on the undercarriage.. I don’t think it will ever rust because they got the stuff on everything. Everyone will have their own opinion on what they think works the best. Make sure whoever you decide on doing the job, make sure they have a good reputation

Look and see if anyone in your area does WaxOyl. It is what came out of the factory on my previous land rovers and it worked like a charm in Chicago Winters. As mentioned before, everyone has their favorite and I really don’t think any one does any better than the other, but the Waxoyl is a one and done procedure with only annual inspection and touch up if needed. Drawback of Waxoyl is it has to go onto a clean undercarriage. It won‘t stick if you wool waxed or fluid filmed beforehand. Wool wax and fluid film are yearly applications to renew. WaxOyl -about $1200+ for installation then minimal annual fee for inspection and touch up. Wool wax and Fluidfilm - $350 - $400 initial application and $?? For annual reapplication. The other advantage to WaxOyl is that it does not rub off onto your dog, cat, hands, clothes, etc.…Like wool wax does.
