To me, in both instances, I'd say it's some sort of chemical from road spray that's reacting with the plastic and causing discoloration. Who knows what kinds of substances are leaking from the millions of vehicles that travel every day.
if that was the case then why was it only in these small select trim pieces ??
or in case of the grill why only in that small area & not over the vast area of plastic on the whole front end ??

Looks to me like some type of cleaner has stained it/took the color out of it. I've seen where you can apply heat to it and it usually will make it look new.

I have no idea. All of those pieces have different chemical makeups that could react differently to some other chemical contaminant. There are plenty of examples in the world of 'Why this and not that.' Seems to me like a warranty claim should take care of it.

I think I might have the worst of this issue. I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s clearcoat that is rubbing off due to some of the products I have been using to shine the trim. I’m going to have to sand and repaint. Similar to the posts above I’m also starting to see it on the rear door pillar trim as well.

i think you are right , that looks like a product that was used has caused the surface to dry out of oils , much like UV age damage
but it might be it's just on the surface
i used a plastic protection sauce & i didn't buff it out completely , looked sorta like that
