I just wanted to post to see what if anything the dealer or Toyota has told you on this.?
I just called my dealer on the 12.3 " screen recall. Hopefully by December? Wtf.
I also asked about the Top hat issue. He at least seemed to know about it, that was a plus.
Didn't seem to interested, said nothing they can do unless there is a recall.
So I got pissed because I've been waiting for the friggin recall! No recall.
So I called Toyota Customer service. Also known as {Toyota Brand Engagement Center}
Guy was really nice, never heard of the issue had trouble understanding the issue...
After being on hold a few times, he had talked to the dealer and said they could do
a basic inspection and see if there is an issue. Really! They wont probably do anything.
Asked and yes it could void my warranty if I fix this myself! As others here have said.
I was hoping we could get any new info anyone has.
And thoughts on the best way of getting a recall started??
Also I checked briefly and there is posts on this back in March of 2024.
Thanks.

Everyone else probably know this already. That Icon kit for fixing it, Just contains it when it breaks. So it cant do damage. Does not prevent it from happening in any way. Kind of a waste of money.

It's Toyota. If it ain't broke they ain't gonna fix it. There's no recall because they're replacing the broken ones with the same piece, so no change to the actual part.

I bought the icon kit because at least if it does break, it contains it so that you're strut isn't bouncing off of the frame.

There's still very few that I've seen break anyways.

Plus they usually screw up more stuff when you go in to have a recall done anyways. See all the fan/overheating issues when they do the BSM recall. If they gave to pull the dash for that screen fix it's going to be a disaster and probably not worth it if you don't have any issues with it.
