All of my "You deserve these upgrades for talking yourself out of buying a TRD Pro" purchases are arriving, so here's a quick review of the Go Rhino (RealTruck) RB20 Slim running boards.

I did not want running boards at all. I don't like them. But I do have a 6 year old who keeps slipping out of the truck at school drop off, so decided to do her a solid and buy some. The only boards I considered were the TRD Cast aluminum running boards and these. Both of those considerations were due to the low profile. These were about as low profile as I could find and half the cost of the TRD boards so decided to give them a go.

As far as running boards go, I think they look ok. I don't love them, but generally I hate the look of running boards, so my feelings towards these are an improvement. I do think they will protect against some door dings, and I like that!

They are galvanized 16ga steel, zinc plated, and powdercoated. They are 5.5" at their widest point, but they taper.

The finish is good for the most part, except on one of the boards there was some chunky kind of overspray, but I emailed their warranty dept and within 12 hours they have a new board on the way. They have a 1 year finish and 5 year structural warranty.

They do only have 3 brackets. Maybe I am remembering this wrong, but I seem to recall every other step I've had using 4 mounting points. They still seem sturdy though.

The written install instructions are lacking, so I'd just pull up the video install instructions from RealTruck, but it's pretty straight forward. I've installed so many different sets of body mounted boards and rocker protecters that this takes me about 30 min.

All in all I am satisfied with them for the price. I won't run them forever because my daughter won't be small forever, but for now they seem like they will serve their purpose and they don't look overly dorky.

I started to get those because like you, I couldn't justify the cost of the OEM cast aluminum boards. They look good, but ultimately, I ended up with some nerf bars because they were half of what the RB20s are. I don't like them at all, but the only reason I want them is because all of the stories about rocks chipping the paint so easily. I'm always on the lookout for the OEM cast aluminums on marketplace because I can't justify the cost, but the pics you posted of the RB20 make me wanna get those.

I'm with you! Even on sale those trd boards are expensive.

These ended up being right around $550, which I didn't love, but they are pretty nice.
