Iqudayo’s idea to use the weather stripping was exactly what I was looking for to remedy my hood shakes. I knew it needed some type of bracing and this was a cheap fix.
Then SnowmanJPS said weather stripping reduced the hood shakes by 75%.
Well I wanted 100% of the shakes gone. Unfortunately I didn’t accomplish that but I came pretty damn close. I’d say 95-98%. I went to Lowe’s and bought some 1/4” clear vinyl tubing for about $10. I inserted that inside the rubber weather stripping tube with the help of some WD40. I’ve noticed one area that still has some flex but other than that the shakes are gone for $20.
