How to build a budget OEM+ overland 4th gen Tacoma

Nice build! I'm interested in the ARE cap, what series and add-ons. Also do you sleep in the back? I'm coming from a full-size truck with a 6.5' bed that I had setup with a topper with a custom bed with drawers etc.

It's the CX Evolve by ARE. I chose it because it came with the headliner carpet standard and the demo models in the store seemed to have better seals than the Leer and Snugtop shells. Good seals were important to me because of cold weather/windy camping, and I've had 2 shells in the past that let in dirt and dust when I'm driving off road and it gets all over the bed - which leads me to your next question. Yes, I sleep in the back. I have a sleeping platform that goes over the wheel wells. It's the length of a full-size bed and 2 inches wider, so not great but not bad either. We sleep 2 people comfortably back there.

The only add-on is the roof rack track.
