Hi All,
I'm looking to try and buy a TRD Pro suspension from another user but I was curious how people normally handle the transactions. Is there any "safe" way to transfer the money so that both parties are protected? Thanks!

paypal using goods and services only. That will protect you for any fraud that may occur. Do not ever use friends and family if you're purchasing anything. If they give you a hard time about using goods and services, run away.

I would add cash if you can meet in a mutually agreeable safe location and bring a friend or two. Verify item and condition in person.

Use PayPal Goods And Services for sure, and use a credit card where you have a long account history and good customer service in case you need to dispute the transaction. Then you'll have two layers of protection, as will the seller.

If the seller is shipping the suspension, it's in their best interest to insure the package for full retail value. They are responsible for getting it to you as sold. (Legally known as FOB Destination - ownership changes hands at the shipping Destination after delivery occurs). The seller will likely want you to "pay" for shipping and insurance, which is fine, though technically you are "reimbursing" the seller for their shipping expenses.

If the buyer is paying the shipper directly, the opposite is true - the seller's liability ends the moment they hand the item to the shipper. (Legally known as FOB Origin - ownership changes hands at the shipping origin)

Packing suspension sucks unless you have a dedicated suspension box with foam inserts. Most people don't. Wrap each shock in plastic, tape it up, then wrap again snugly in a layer of cardboard and tape it up again. Then arrange everything in a thick/double wall box and fill the box 100% with packing material. There should be zero wiggle room in the box. ZERO. Heavy things moving inside a box is a common reason that a box fails. The box should only be as large as needed - cut it down if there is significant dead space.

Update: Turns out the sale didn't work out but this is a lot of good info for the future. I very much appreciate all the feedback. That's why this forum is great!
