Infotainment screen starting to glitch recently

Hello all,

I recently began noticing my Infotainment screen glitching randomly. I thought I was crazy at first because it happens so fast, but is becoming more frequent over the last two weeks; when I first noticed it, it was very random. Now it's pretty much every time I turn on the truck - (about an hour commute each way to work and it will happen twice or so)

In short, the screen (14") will be working normally, and then the entire screen will turn orange (but just for a split second). I didn't know if I was catching some weird glare at first, but then it began happening on my drive into work while it's still dark out, so glare is ruled out. I always run Spotify via Apple Car Play while I'm driving and am wondering if it perhaps could be an issue with Spotify or Apple Car Play, rather than the system itself. My music or podcast never hiccup when this occurs either, so there's that. I have not yet contacted my dealer because they'll of course just say that they couldn't replicate it and send me on my way.

Just wondering if anyone else has come across this issue. Thanks all!

My SWAG (which counts for nothing), is that it is 100% related to CarPlay.

I am seeing the same thing over the last week. A flash of what I thought was red but I guess ot could be orange. Almost like a pop up ad on your phone. I always drive with waze up on the screen so wasnt sure if it was the screen or carplay

Interesting. I also use WAZE (forgot to mention that) so maybe it is something to do with one of the apps. If it continues I'll bring it up to my service advisor. At least it would be recorded as an issue if it becomes a problem in the future.

Crossing my fingers its just an app!

If it's an issue with Android/CarPlay/phone apps, it's pretty pointless to mention to a service advisor. Toyota doesn't have anything to do with external software.

I don't use any of the CarPlay/Android Auto and have never had issues. I've seen a common theme among users of those integrations having issues though. So it seems like issues with the external software integrations/apps.

This is coming from someone who writes software for one of the most complex airframes built...

If I bring it up it would be because I were already at the dealership for service, and for the sole reason of having it recorded in the event it does turn out to be a Toyota software issue.

Ive used Waze and Spotify from the first day of ownership and this is a relatively new issue (over the last month). It's certainly possible one of them updated recently and caused an issue.
