Can someone do me a favor and turn their headlight stalk to the parking\running lights toggle and see what lights up on their IPC?

When you have it on DRL OFF there should be no lighting symbols present.

When you turn it up one to AUTO it will do be dependent on ambient light\conditions

When you turn it up one to PARKING\RUNNING i swear i saw previously a distinct light icon symbolizing your PARKING\RUNNING lights were on. But thats not the case for me now.

When you turn it up one more to explicitly LOWBEAMS\HEADLIGHTS it will show a dedicated lowbeam symbol.

And of you have the fog lights on, it will show a dedicated fog light symbol in both AUTO, PARKING and LOWBEAM modes.

TLDR; Im trying to determine if my cluster isnt functioning right and a dedicated PARKING light icon isnt showing up on the IPC when in that mode. If someone can turn their stalk to PARKING lights mode and take a picture of their IPC it would be helpful.

I don't think I've ever seen a symbol on the IC for the daytime running lights. I can see they're on in the reflection of the car in front of me at stop lights, but I only have the low beam and fog light indicators that come on when it's dark. My lights are set to auto.

I've tried to explain it a bit better and more in depth below.

In the scenario that the "DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHT" toggle is set to ON within the vehicle customization settings in the trucks infotainment screen. The lighting functions as expected on the vehicle.

1. When the light switch stalk is in the "DRL OFF" position, nothing on the headlamp assembly is lit.

2. When the light switch stalk is in the "AUTO" position AND the light sensor is detecting enough ambient light, the headlamps low beam projector is on but running in a lower output mode then true low beams. This is the "DRL" function of the vehicle. If the light sensor detects a lack of ambient light, as if its dark enough outside, then the headlamps assemblys projectors low beam turn fully on, along with the vehicles parking light circuit being lit. Which in the front of the vehicle are the dual filament amber running lights that also function as a turn signal.

3. When the light switch stalk is in the "PARKING" lights position the dual filament amber running lights are lit, along with the headlamps projector either running in full low beam mode, or reduced output "DRL" mode. Which is dictated by the ambient light sensor. However, if you also have your fog lights on in this scenario, the headlamp assemblys projector will turn off leaving just the dual filament amber running lights on, and the fog lights.

4. When the light switch stalk is in the "HEADLIGHT" position, the headlamp assemblys low beam will be fully lit functioning as your low beam.

Now things change a little bit if you disable the "DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHT" toggle within the vehicle customization settings. The low beams will basically never be running at reduced output in any scenario. Which means the only time the low beams will ever be lit is if youre in "AUTO" mode and the ambient light sensor determines its dark out. Or if you specifically put the stalk in the "HEADLIGHT" position to enable full low beams.

In all of these scenarios there are indicator lights on the IPC for each position you have the stalk set to, showing you what lights are lit on the vehicle.

DRL OFF = no indicator light

AUTO = Fog light indicator and\or lowbeam\headlight indicator depending on ambient light conditions.

PARKING = NOTHING or fog light indicator only if fog lights are on.

HEADLIGHT = Headlight indicator icon and fog light indicator if they are on.

What im trying to determine is if anyone elses IPC on an SR5 or OF gets any sort of dedicated PARKING indicator light on the IPC when you put the stalk in PARKING mode. I find it odd toyota wouldnt display and inform you when your PARKING lights are enabled.

Haven't tried. One of the first things I did was disable DRL. I believe they are more unsafe bc ppl fail to turn their full lights on after dark bc they are misled by seeing their "headlights" on.

Chiming in though because there's one more row to add to your table: lighting behavior during remote start operations.

My observation is with it disabled you get no indication that the truck is remotely idling after initial flashes. Seems like a low risk but very obvious software coding oversight.
