Land Cruiser skids installed on 2024+ Tacoma 4th Gen

Front skid plates are the same, just stamped with different words. Transmission skid plates differ between hybrid and conventional. I have a conventional, but the parts guy gave me the part number for a hybrid. Now I'm stuck with a $325 skid plate that doesn't fit my truck. Anybody wanna buy the behemoth?

Interesting, because the trans skid plate i ordered is for the trailhunter, and it fits my non-hybrid off road.

It should, but you'll need to buy the front crossmember separately.

I see. Is this crossmember ‘standard’ on the TRD OR trim for some other attached stuff already that’s not included on SR5 trims? Anyone happen to know the part number for the crossmember by chance?

It's standard for the OR, and higher trims, but not on SR5 or Sport. Just google 4th gen front cross member and there's a lot of options. not expensive actually!

I do not. The dealership graciously swapped it out for the correct part.

Did you need to use the black bracket piece that comes with the Land Cruiser skid or was it not needed on the OR?

Does not fit. There's nothing on the Tacoma to bolt it to in the front. I threw mine out.

Thats what I figured but I just wanted make sure. I saw it and kept thinking "where the hell would I even put this??" so I just wanted to be 100% sure I can just toss it before actually tossing it and then finding out I did need it.

You could probably mount it to the front of the skid plate, if you really wanted to, for looks. But it's not NEEDED
