Just got around to installing the Lexland Tacoma tailgate inserts. They look better than I expected, especially against the Underground paint.
Install was straightforward. I prepped the surface with an ONR wash followed by Gyeon Prep to make sure the adhesive had a clean surface to bond to. After installing, I let the truck sit out in the sun for a few hours to help everything set.
For the price, these are a great alternative to OEM. The letters do sit slightly raised off the tailgate, but I actually like the added depth. I think it gives it a more aggressive look.
Long-term durability is still to be determined, but so far I’m really happy with how they turned out.
