I thought I read our trucks have to be enabled through a tune to use an AGM battery. It's advertised in the OTT tune.

You can run without, its just optimization. Long term should be done to maximize life and efficiency, short term unnecessary. I believe I even seen a thread on either this forum or a different one recommending against it unless you plan on keeping the truck long term because it could cause issues for the next owner if they choose to go back to standard lead acid.



Also to note, there are lots of battery brands but not many manufacturers. The manufacturers choose the warranty, not the brand or retailer. I would assume Costcos warranty is trash because that's what the manufacturer agreed to honor based on the sale price per unit. Which would explain why interstate branded batteries sold elsewhere have different warranties.
