Just picked up a 4th gen TRD OR with the 6 speed. Had a manual 2nd gen, and automatic 3rd gen, and came back to it due to the lack luster performance of the automatics.

Trying to figure out what the ‘normal noises’ are for the truck, and noticed an odd noise when I clutch in/out.

Some background - seems to happen about 30% in on the clutch, all the way down, and back to the same spot. Occurs in every gear shift when accelerating/higher RPM. Does not seem to occur during slow shifts, downshifting, or just clutching in/out at speed. Closest I can describe it is the sound of a dry bearing or a hydraulic safety lifting/chattering. Tried turning up the radio, but I still know it’s there lol

Anyone else have odd noises when shifting? If it’s normal I’ll get used to it, wanted to see if it warranted further investigation.

Thanks!

No comparable issue with 13k on my 2024, take it to the dealer.

Does slightly holding the clutch while driving take the noise away? like putting a little pressure on the pedal while you're driving?

It does a bit, only under a little load. Feathering the clutch on a slight hill at take off, or while under a little acceleration.

At first I thought throw out bearing because of a little bit of whine, but didn’t sound like what I remember it being when mine went in my 2nd gen. I’m not familiar with the clutch system/assembly so I wasn’t sure if it was an accumulator or something?
