I have small areas on the front bumper where the paint seems to have been worn away exposing the plastic underneath. Yet I haven't hit anything or driven through brush. I drive many freeway miles and I wonder if road grit has abraded the paint away. Makes me think the paint is very thin.

I'll ask the dealer to replace the plastic strips. Thanks for the information.

I've been driving Toyota trucks since 1990. Even though my 2024 has proven a disappointment in some regards, I like the way it drives. I've already put 54K miles on it, and so far so good. Even though my VIN # falls into the batch that have had transmission issues I've had none. The competition is still unappealing, but I wish Toyota hadn't cheaped out on certain details, like the paint.

That's 3000 miles a month assuming delivery date was Jan 24, wow 😳 When we do 1500 miles a month it feels like a lot 😂 none of it is commuting lol

Wonder who has the highest mileage 4G here?

Actually I received it in late April. I drive a lot. It sucks, but what a comfortable truck. Couldn't do it in a Ford.

Yeah I find it very comfortable too! 5'5" here, everything is in the right place.

Drove from SF to LA and back with a few 3hr stretches without any ergonomic complaints. It rides like a truck but that's fine with me, it's a truck 😁

And wow that is a lot of driving! Aside from actual issues, how is the interior holding up? And any maintenance beyond oil changes and rotations?

I have had no issues with the interior. I was in a hurry to get the truck and accepted one with the black interior. Unfortunately it really shows stains. My previous truck was a desert tan with beige interior, and it hid dirt and stains well. Two things I miss from my old truck are the little extension flap I could pull out from the visor to block sun when the visor is pulled to the left and the handle/bar mounted above the window to pull up into the truck. Those were great features.

I bought the extended warranty believing that all the new technology might produce issues, but so far it runs like all of my previous Toyotas.

Agreed on the visor and bar for sure.

I bought a 100k/9yr warranty with the truck and fully intend to keep it for the entire duration of it. Probably going to extend it to 125k.

Yeah I'm not worried about the drivetrain, more so the electronics.
