My Ham Radio mount location in 2024 Trailhunter

I decided to mount my ham radio body on the passenger side of the center console. I used a threaded "cheese board" backer/mounting plate to attach the radio bracket. The location will allow a short run to power at the fuse panel under the glove box, a relatively short run to the radio's face plate and speaker on the dash, and a good path for the antenna mounted on the ditch light bracket on the driver side. The radio is a Yeasu FTM-200DR dual band.

That's the first place I mounted my radio too. Found it interfered too much with the passenger seat movement. Mine sits up on a grab bar clamp mount now.

Is that only the face plate or the radio body too.

I did it under the passenger seat. You just gotta be careful if you have power seats. That gap closes up quickly if someone jumps in and starts adjusting it when you are not paying attention. My wife likes sitting high and she is the only one who rides with me so that was why I chose that side.
