Hey everyone,

Long-time North Carolina resident here looking to get back into camping, exploring, and 4WD trails after a bit of a hiatus. I currently daily drive a 6th Gen 4Runner Limited, but I am seriously considering adding to a 4th Gen Tacoma for my adventures.

I'm currently torn between the TRD Off-Road Premium and the Limited trims. I joined to dive into the technical details, owner reviews, and build threads to help me make my decision.
For those of you who already own a 4th Gen TRD Off-Road Premium or a Limited, what made you choose your specific trim? I'd love to hear your opinions on how they handle daily driving versus hitting the trails.
Looking forward to learning from you all!

4th gen TRD Sport 6MT before that 3rd/2nd gen TRD Sport 6MT
Same same, welcome to the forum. I too don't have a dog in this fight. My Taco is a TRD Sport premium package and I love it. It stands one inch taller than the OffRoad and has a tighter suspension. I don't hit the trails these days but when I did my 2nd gen and 3rd gen TRD Sport's did just fine.

As far as the Limited goes I love the chrome but there's just something about the overall look that turns me off. I wish they put that much chrome on teh TRD Sport :) Happy trails.

24 TRD OR Hybrid
Welcome. I am in WNC and have a 24 OR hybrid. It worked well for me making it to some off grid camp sites but I have not done any serious rock crawling. It was a champ during Helene getting through minor flooded areas and debris on the road.

It is also my daily and I get about 20.7 MPG around town and a bit more when on the highways for longer trips. Again I cant speak to hitting hardcore trails but it's been great for some basic off roading to campsites. I also have not done any suspension or wheel/tire mods so my experience is 100% factory in that regard.

Hope that helps a bit
