anyone here running a BX55s mounted to the bed rails?
i am really struggling with the lack of easy to access storage inside the tacoma and filling my back seat with stuff really isnt an option. i keep coming back to the bx55s mounted with the lid opening from the side of the truck.

the bx55 is 36" which will clear the arb sport bar but block either the electric plug in or the compressor. i would prefer it on the compressor side. honestly, not a huge deal as i will rarely have to use those unless im away from home and the pelican system makes it relatively quick to unmount if needed, but curious if anyone has mounted the bx55s and have it slightly overlap the arb sport bar to leave the compressor door free to open. not sure if the pelican saddles have enough adjustment/clearance to do this?

I just installed this last weekend. I put it on the front rail rather than the sides.

There is about 2-1/2” between the box and the rail. You should have plenty of room to overlap the ARB sport bar.

I assume you're using the saddle mount?

I got 55s and saddle mount today
Overall the size was about what I expected after many many many measurements and mock ups.

The finish on these cases leaves a lot to be desired for the price.

I have it mounted opening to the outside of the bed but with my short height this was a mistake. I cannot see inside the box, so it will be flipped to open towards the inside.

Does it fit a trailhunter with arb sport bar? Yes, and no. If you have a 5' box, you're going to have issues. Mine is a 6' box

I can get it on and off he saddle mount with a little wrestling. The arb bars get in the way of tilting the box fully but it can be done. You can still access the plug on the passenger side. I did not want to block the compressor as you wouldn't be able to use it with this box in place.

I also would have liked to see another pelican decal on the backside. But mine will be covered once I switch a
It around. Would have also liked to see the top of th3 bx55 to be flush with the top of the bed for a tonneau cover but I don't have one so i guess it doesn't matter.

Will play around with trying to move the box more rearward later this week so it mounts and unmounts easier and post pictures for others to see What I mean.

It serves the purpose I need it for, so for now it stays.

Update....flipping the box around for some reason works better for mounting and unmounting. Must be the profile of the lid or something....

Other gripes-only short shackle locks work. Yes. I know it's plastic and easy to break into. But more options would be appreciated
