I had the TSB reprogram done a few weeks ago, and now the truck will recognize a trailer isn't connected within 30-45 seconds after I disconnect.

Borrowed my in-law's trailer over the weekend, and encountered the "ghost trailer" issue after I unhitched at home. Kept getting the "trailer detected" message, with sensors disabled and no option to override.

I'm not sure what the secret was, but I managed to finally get it to deactivate right after I dropped the trailer back off. Here's the sequence of events, as best as I can remember them...

1) I left the truck running while disconnecting the trailer (electrical and hitch).

2) As I was starting to pull away, I got the "trailer detected, sensors disabled" message, and pressed the back button on the steering wheel to dismiss.

3) A few seconds later, another message appeared on the cluster stating that a trailer was NOT detected, with options of "Yes" and "No", and to hold OK to confirm.

4) With "Yes" selected, I held the OK button on the steering wheel.

5) "Trailer mode" deactivated (the little orange circle icon in the cluster went away), and my sensors reactivated.

FWIW, I have *not* had the TSB reprogram yet (planning on taking care of that at my first oil change).

When I had the TSB performed they actually had to replace one or more of the sensors as well so it took 3 days off them having the vehicle.
