Hello guys, I see there are a couple of videos on the Tacoma 3G install, is the install exactly the same on our 4gs?
Yeah that’s what I used to install mine, careful not to drop your mirror cap and scratch it up like me lol. Also beware if they still sending out the same quality stuff as what I got you’ll have to trim parts of the plastic on the back of the suma for it to properly clip into place on the 4g

Care to point out what parts need to be trimmed?

Thanks!

circled in red, total 4 locations. If you look at the full picture of the side by side (suma next to oem on page 1) you can see that those 4 spots I circled are in slightly different locations compared to the oem.
Did you also receive a set that looks like mine? Supposedly they said they fixed it.

It reduces glare form headlights and the sun. I read through a ton of reviews before I decide on which set I wanted, and people seem to praise the blue tinted ones. I read the reviews on various Reddit posts vs just the website just in case. People seem to love them, and I had intended to get a wide set of mirrors for my truck since my new bed is wider than OEM.

I just have a million things going on with the truck currently. Hoping to get them put in this week. I will report back.

I think they have, I had asked one other person on this post and one user on Facebook's tacoma 4g page they all said no modifcations needed to install the Suma's. I just really wish they didn't have their logo on there which is the only reason I haven't purchased it yet. I'm waiting for another company to make them without the logos, but I may cave and just get the Suma's.

I'm missing the blue mirror a lot, it's one of those things, once you have it, you can never go back haha. My previous cars have either come with auto-dimming mirrors OR i would buy aftermarket blue mirrors. Heck, I even purchased blue mirrors for my motorcycle. Game changer for night time driving for sure.

I installed these today on my Tacoma. I’m not liking them so far it seems like the only FOV I gained towards my truck. I reached out to Suma to see if maybe mine are defective. I’m pretty sure these mirrors don’t have as much travel around the housing because i dont think they point down as far down or to the left as the OEM mirrors.

Has anyone else installed them on their Tacoma and had a different experience?

OP here. I had the same concerns and reached out to them as I got these for free to test. They let me know that what you’re getting is and intended. I found that if you move the mirror to the top most position and kind of push it. Worked great and you get used to it. Over a year of using it and it all feels normal.

So you had to manually adjust the mirror to the position you wanted? That fucking blows dude what’s the point of the mirror if it makes it so that you can’t use the electric mirrors? I feel like the issue is the new mirrors are noticeably thicker and since they are convex they make contact with the mirror housing much sooner limiting its range of motion.
