Third brake light/cameras install

I am installing a Wolfbox rear view mirror/camera system in my 2025 TRDOR and have decided to use the PRO third brake light w/cameras for the rear camera function. Here's my question...has anyone run wiring under the headliner without dropping the headliner down?
It seems like there is a lot of open space between the headliner and the roof panel so fishing a few wires through should not be an issue.

I've done it before with past vehicles including my 4Runner. Wasn't an issue.

Just to be clear... you installed a Wolfbox digital mirror and connected your OEM camera to it? I would like to learn how you did it, thanks!

I did not install a Wolfbox camera and connect my OEM camera to it. I was answering your question. I've run cables under the headliner without it drooping down. If you can get a Wolfbox (or any dashcam) to work with OEM, I think you might be the first that i've heard.

The reason that pairing keeps not working is that the factory cameras are not composite video units. On the 4th gen the inner mirror camera and the bed camera both land on connector 90980-12F26 gray, running a five-wire scheme. An aftermarket mirror expecting a standard composite input will not read it, and there is no adapter that makes it read it, so @tgrneal is right that it would be unusual.

I would not splice into these cables either. It is a sensitive signal, and Toyota's own wire harness repair guidelines say not to repair shielded wiring because performance cannot be guaranteed after repair.

That leaves two clean paths. Run the Wolfbox fully standalone on its own camera and leave the OEM system alone, which is what most people end up doing.

Or keep the factory digital mirror and move the factory camera to wherever your view is actually blocked. Our DRV relocation harness for the 4th gen separates the camera run at the factory inline joint Toyota already put there, so nothing is cut, spliced or soldered, the shielded pair stays intact and your image is on the original screen.
