Hi Everyone,

I want to install a winch and aftermarket steel bumper, but I was wondering how the Trailhunter stock suspension handles the extra weight.

I currently have 35-inch tires installed, and it's a tight fit. Would adding the extra weight up front cause the nose to dip and possibly cause rubbing?

Yes, it will drop. I lost about 1/2” - 3/4” with the RCI Pike and a Warn 10s Plat. If you’re rubbing anywhere now, be prepared for more.

I wouldn't recommend it, unless you plan to respring the front coilovers.
After having my king suspension on for 10000 miles and then installing the backwoods front high clearance hybrid bumper and 12K winch my front end dropped a good half inch. That being said, I lost a lot of my ride quality and off-road softness.
I just purchase new coils from king and plan on remedying this situation.
I run on thirty 33x9.5 &+20 offset with absolutely no rubbing when it counts in use.
FOOD FOR THOUGHT

I've got 35's and a heavy bumper and winch. I felt like the front end wandered after adding the weight. I swapped just the coils on my front and that took care of it, but I lost a very small amount of height and rubbing increased. A tiny amount of trimming and removing the bracket covering the swaybar disconnect wire (and re-routing it) solved all my rubbing even when aired down. I've gotten pretty well flexed out off road with no rubbing after these changes. See my build thread for additional details and pics.
